The anniversary quietly went by on October 17th. It marked one year since my first blog post on www.thesavvyceliac.com. I think I had an inkling I would like doing this – but I didn’t know I would love it!

Searching for a doctor is tough. Searching for a pediatrician with a solid understanding of celiac disease is even tougher. Yes, Emma has a specialist. But because of a change in insurance — we now need to leave our fabulous kids’ doc for someone else in a new network. The process has me a bit uneasy.

70 percent of celiacs have or have had symptoms of bone loss. But can you get it back after a diagnosis of celiac disease and get on the gluten-free diet? It looks promising in some cases– if you ask researchers who recently conducted two studies on bones and celiac.

Oh mon dieu! Oh my goodness! My 10 year old celiac child’s going to Europe next summer and I can’t go with her! How will she eat gluten-free in England and France? I’m searching for any tips, tricks and sound advice you can offer!

My question today goes beyond the question of ingredients when I ask – When do you consider a product gluten-free? Are you a gluten-free label snob? I find myself questioning this of myself.
