Months of planning for our celiac fundraiser in the Twin Cities all comes down to what happens between 6:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. the day of the event. All you wonder about before is — “Will it all work out?” And all you say after is, “Thankfully it did”! And last Saturday — it did, but there’s a lot of hard work, deliberation and, sometimes, turmoil in the process.
The 9th Annual Walk/Run for Celiac Disease planning is really coming to a crucial point and there is a lot to do. I coordinate our local event in the Twin Cities and we raise money for the University of Maryland’s Center for Celiac Research. It is a lot of work, but so rewarding.

Helping out a cause that is important to me is a vital part of who I am. Our annual event that raises money for celiac disease is that cause for me. Some years I’ve been more active than others. This year however is a biggie –filled with challenges and rewards.
