Gluten Free Fave Bricks Pub to Open New Location Near National Sports Center
September 24, 2014 by Amy Leger | G+ Amy LegerA great place that I have been recommending to eat at near the National Sports Center in Blaine, Minnesota is Bricks Pub.
It had a great selection of gluten free foods, handled with care from a chef that has celiac disease. There was a separate fryer for seriously yummy gluten free fries and gluten free buns for the burgers. But last month, my daughter and I were bummed to see the sign gone from the building where it was housed.
Blaine, Minnesota is my suburban hometown. Filled with many bar and grill type establishments, very few really are helpful for gluten free eaters — just to be honest. Yet, my city brings in about 4 million people each year for soccer, hockey and other sporting events with the National Sports Center. That means these restaurants are fulfilling the food needs of so many people, you would think gluten free might be something they would consider.
Well Bricks met that need. Until we noticed they were gone– no sign on the door, no message on their Facebook page….sigh. I figured another good restaurant bit the dust.
I immediately went to their Facebook page and sent them a message inquiring about the closure. It took them a few weeks to reply with this: “We are opening two blocks north …. Stayed tuned exciting things coming!”
So I replied with this follow-up question: would they continue with their great gluten-free products? Unfortunately they still haven’t replied back. BUT I can tell you this….over the weekend I saw this construction going on– just across the street from the National Sports Center — with a sign erected that said Coming Soon: BRICKS!
Yay! Fingers crossed that any type of updated menu will continue with safe gluten-free options for those who really need it!

Yay! I love eating at that place (granted it’s once a year) but I hope they continue with their commitment to gluten free!

Thank you so much for the post! Yes, we will absolutely continue to offer a large selection of gluten-free items. With our new location, we will be adding gluten-free pasta to our menu as well. Many of our dishes are gluten-free or can be made gluten-free upon request. Along with our food options, we will also continue to carry gluten-free beer by the bottle as well as a couple of different cider options. We look very forward to seeing all of you soon!!

went to the new place on Saturday night( 02212015) . Looks nice .bad service …..
it took over 45 min for the food to come out .And no Server in sight,to follow up .
For a wine place to have only a hand full of red wines by the glass is some what a let down . The price in the end was way to high …..
for an ” soccer field bar ” we will see .
I may try it one more time ,hopefully the staff will get some needed training ..by then .
