MN State Fair: Celiac Volunteers & Gluten Free Baking Entries
July 13, 2011 by Amy Leger | G+ Amy LegerThe Minnesota State Fair is getting closer and the Northland Celiac Support Group just announced it is the sponsor of 5 gluten free baking categories! Submit your fabulous recipe and you could win! Top winners get $10 — plus the notoriety that they won their category at the State Fair!
So if you think you have a fabulous recipe, you might want to get on it and enter! Here are the details:
Gluten Free Categories:
- Quick bread or muffins
- Crackers, pretzels or snacks
- Cookies or bars
- Cake
- Leavened bread
For more details on how it works and the important deadlines you have to meet, download the Creative Activities Premium Book (located in the right column of this link) and go to page 37 for details on the gluten-free submissions. Recipes must be typed on one side of paper and brought in with submitted entry, including name, address, and telephone number on reverse side of paper.
Volunteers needed
The Northland Celiac Support Group is also calling for volunteers to help with it’s booth inside the HealthFair11 building during the fair. Volunteers are needed for every day of the fair, from August 25th- September 5th. Please contact Connie at checht81@msn.com with NCSG with the day you’re interested in. Time slots are: 9 a.m.-12 p.m., 12-3 p.m., 3-6 p.m. and 6-9 p.m.
You get a free admission into the fair and a t-shirt when you volunteer!
NCSG continues their hard work on the State Fair Gluten Free Food list. That will be available soon.
