Great Celiac & Gluten-Free Segment on CBS The Early Show
October 29, 2009 by Amy Leger | G+ Amy LegerI know I’m a day late, but this segment was great Wednesday morning. It was a short cooking segment. But I thought it was tightly packed with information for the general public but also those with celiac disease.
This gluten-free segment was on CBS’s The Early Show. I think the segment was good because the host already knew what he was talking about because his mom has celiac disease. The guest chef was Robert Landolphi. I reviewed his book Gluten Free Every Day Cookbook last summer and it became a favorite of mine. Landolphi wrote the book after his wife was sick and was diagnosed with celiac disaease.
During the show, Landolphi even corrected the host on calling celiac an allergy, “…it’s actually an autoimmune disorder…” but he explained why we might call it an allergy at a restaurant — basically to make the explanation easier when dining out (also helped safe face to the host who I hope knows its an autoimmune disorder).
Anyway, totally worth your 3-4 minutes of time. Plus the biscuits they made my mouth water! See The Early Show link above to get to the segment.
