General Mills finally officially acknowledged what the blogosphere has been talking about for months, including here at The Savvy Celiac, that five more gluten-free Chex cereals will become widely available across the country this summer!
A news release put out Friday afternoon talks about the transformation of Chex cereals over the last year and the positive response from consumers, beginning with gluten free Rice Chex. Now they’ve added five more: Corn, Cinnamon, Strawberry, Chocolate, and Honey Nut to the mix. . “For the first time, people looking for a tasty, gluten-free cereal can shop the main cereal aisle at their market without paying a premium,” Adrienne Daniels, Chex marketing manager recently said.
Elaine Monarch, Executive Director of the Celiac Disease Foundation agreed, “When a global food manufacturer steps in and delivers affordable, gluten-free products, as General Mills has done with Chex cereals, it improves the day-to-day lives of many individuals and helps to raise awareness for this serious condition.”
I’ve already found Corn and Honey Nut. Just make sure you look for the big gluten-free “swoosh” on the front of the box to make sure you’re getting the new formulation.

I made some very delicious “chex mix” using both the corn
and rice chex. Looking forward to seeing all varieties in
the supermarket. I enjoy cereal “dry” for snacking. Plus
the cost is great compared to health store prices.
