We’ve all had those moments where you wait to go to the grocery store, until you finally run out of that one thing. I have that threshold for both staple items (like milk, bread and — ahem, diet soda) and gluten-free foods that I buy at a specialty store. These are the “must-haves” that you or your family can’t live without.
I am blessed to be in a parenting group in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area of Minnesota where one member posed this very question, “What is the must-have gluten-free item in your kitchen?” With her in agreement, I offered to put a summary of sorts as a blog post. I figure if an estimated 25 families who responded to the question think the foods are fantastic, then let’s spread the word!
The most popular items on the “must-have gluten-free item” list are the Chebe Pizza Crust Mix and any and all noodles made by Tinkyada. Close behind are the Chebe Cheese Bread Mix, Glutino Pretzels, Rice Chex. Now here’s the complete list as the rest were all items that had just one or two mentions.

If you have some “must haves” to add, send me them and if I get enough I will add a new or updated post. Thanks for all the feedback and I hope the list inspires you to try some new and fantastic gluten-free foods!
